Abhay Rohit — Creative Product Engineer

I design and build digital products, combining frontend engineering with interactive design. My work connects the first interaction with the engineering, testing, and care a product needs after launch.

Portrait of Abhay Rohit
Abhay Rohit / India

Abhay Rohit is a creative product engineer based in India. He designs and builds digital products, with frontend engineering as his foundation and interactive design as a continuing part of his practice. His work spans production product interfaces and expressive browser experiences: interfaces that need to communicate clearly, behave reliably, and carry a distinct visual point of view.

He co-founded Haspr with four others in 2019. The studio worked on websites, mobile applications, identities, and interactive experiences for businesses with very different audiences. Its selected work included vehicle-service operations, school transport, accounting, local job discovery, and a digital tour of Khajuraho. Working across these projects connected visual design with the practical questions of how people move through a product and how a team turns an idea into something usable.

At Haspr, Rohit worked as a co-founder and design engineer, and designed and built the studio’s own website. That work brought typography, motion, and browser graphics into the studio’s public identity. The Haspr Agency Portfolio received CSS Design Awards Special Kudos and a CSS Winner Star in October 2022. Orpetron’s listing credits Rohit for development. These are recognitions of the studio website, with a specific contribution credit, rather than awards for every client product the studio made.

From November 2022 to January 2026, Rohit was the sole frontend engineer at TBD Health. His responsibility covered the Next.js public commerce website, the portals used by patients and clinicians, and the Strapi content system. He took work from Figma or his own interface designs through implementation, API integration, testing, release, and ongoing maintenance. He worked alongside backend engineers and the CTO; his ownership was the frontend domain within a larger product team.

The engagement also involved routine AWS operations and production support. The work extended beyond a single checkout or booking journey: the same frontend owner needed to understand public entry points, authenticated interfaces, content tools, and the delivery process that kept them running. During the Wisp transition from January to July 2026, he continued as frontend domain owner, documenting architecture and product behavior and supporting technical knowledge transfer and handoff.

His interactive work includes design and frontend engineering for the Haspr team’s original Khajuraho Expo browser tour. Fieldwork, panoramic exploration, multilingual content, and mobile gyroscope navigation formed that project. The illustrated Khajuraho sequence in this portfolio is a later interpretation of the original work; its images and motion are not a recording of the original product.

Rohit is an official Awwwards jury member for 2026. Today his portfolio brings these strands together: frontend architecture and delivery, interaction design, and careful visual execution. He is available to discuss engineering roles and design-led product projects with employers and clients. Selected case studies describe his contribution, the decisions behind the work, and the limits of the public evidence; his résumé provides a more detailed employment record.

Career, in order

  1. January 2026 — July 2026

    Wisp

    Senior Frontend Engineer (Contract)

Frontend domain ownership through the TBD Health transition: system documentation, product and technical knowledge transfer, route preservation, and handoff.

  2. November 2022 — January 2026

    TBD Health

    Sole Frontend Engineer (Contract)

Frontend architecture, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance across the public website, patient and clinician portals, and Strapi CMS, alongside backend engineers and the CTO.

  3. September 2019 — December 2022

    Haspr

    Co-founder & Design Engineer

Co-founded a five-person design and development studio. Worked across product interfaces, visual design, frontend engineering, and the studio’s own website.

A practice built
through the work

Frontend engineering: React, Next.js, and TypeScript; interface architecture, API integration, and responsive production delivery across public websites and authenticated products.

Interactive design: typography, motion, and browser graphics using GSAP, Three.js, and WebGL. The Haspr and Khajuraho case studies show how that work connects with content and navigation.

Product delivery: testing with Playwright and Cucumber, production investigation with Sentry, content tooling, routine AWS operations, maintenance, and technical handoff.
