My Instagram journey

A creative practice in public.

My role

Creator, editor and account owner. The supplied portfolio BMW photograph has separate photographer authorship; no commissioned BMW partnership is asserted.

Project status

Public personal creator practice; dated mixed paid/organic analytics.

Concept poster for Abhay’s Instagram journey. A guitar, vintage microphone, headphones and floating film frames sit in a petrol-blue scene with orange light. The headline reads “A practice in public.” The objects symbolize a creator practice; this artwork is not a photograph of Abhay’s life.
Original conceptual campaign artwork · October 2026. A visual metaphor for this study; project evidence follows below.
01 / Context

The idea behind the work.

My Instagram practice brings together cars, training, music and travel. The work is more than a grid: it includes capture choices, editing, audio and the decisions around sharing. I have started keeping dated records of the account and individual posts so the next creative choice has evidence behind it. Two account snapshots show a change from 180 followers on 19 September to 2,496 on 9 October 2026, with paid promotion included in distribution. I want to present that honestly, alongside actual creative outputs and the process. The journey demonstrates persistence and range; it does not establish an organic-only result or an engineering-product performance claim.

02 / Engineering & design

What I chose.
And why.

A public profile can show the finished image while hiding the work around it: capture, editing, audio, posting decisions and reading the results. I wanted the journey to show creative practice and the discipline of learning from measured evidence.

  1. Keep the personal voice grounded in travel, cars, fitness and music while using engineering work as occasional behind-the-scenes context.

  2. Use actual source portraits and supplied real-world footage; label conceptual promotional art as artwork.

  3. Read account counts and per-post metrics in their dated scopes, with paid distribution disclosed and missing values left unknown.

03 / Supporting media

Closer to the source.

Dates and capture context are preserved for every image.

04 / Evidence

What the work shows.

Dated account snapshots recorded 180 followers on 19 September and 2,496 on 9 October 2026. Paid promotion was part of distribution. The BMW reel recorded 488,217 lifetime All views and 2,135 lifetime All Follows on 9 October; All expressly includes ads. These metrics support a creator journey, not a causal engineering outcome.

05 / Boundaries

Where I keep the distinction.

The growth snapshots include paid distribution. Lifetime All views and Follows are not organic-only figures or a net account-growth split. I use the numbers as dated creative context, without attributing them to Reel OS or claiming a BMW commission.
